Author Guidelines

Professional Journal of Library and Information Technology invites research based papers, articles and book reviews from Faculties, academicians, library professionals & learned Scholars on different functional area of library Science and Information Technology.
The Paper should be research oriented, methodological and issue based on any aspect of library Science and Information Technology

While sending papers, the following guidelines must be strictly followed. Contributors that do not adhere to the guidelines will not be considered.

  • Manuscripts / Paper should be approximately 3000 —5000 words. The text should be one and half spaced on A-4 size paper with one inch margins all round, giving page numbers & submitted with cover page bearing only the title of the paper, authors name, designation, official address, phone, Fax numbers and e-mail IDs. Soft copy of the same must be sent as an attachment with email. Soft copy should be in Microsoft word, Times Roman Font, 12 font size one and half spacing.
  • The separate list of references should be given at the end of the paper. Footnotes may be given on the same page if the technical term needs some explanation.
  • The author should clarify on a separate page that the manuscript is his / her original contribution. It should also be mentioned that the paper has not been submitted or accepted for publishing by any other journal.
  • Acceptance of the article for review demands fulfillment of all the guidelines.
  • The Screening Committee reserves the sole discretion to accept or refuse an article for publication. Manuscripts not considered for publication will not be sent back.
  • Editorial Board decisions will be communicated with in a period of maximum one months of receipt of article. Editorial Board decisions will be final.
  • Once article is sent, it will not be returned to the author even if it is not accepted for publication. The copyright of all accepted papers will be vest with Editors.
  • Each contributing author will receive a complimentary copy of the issue in which his / her paper appears

Publishing Ethics for PJOLAIT Journal

  1. Author etiquette refers to the courtesies and considerations that an author employs when preparing a manuscript and communicating with an editor.
  2. Fraudulent publication is a term that includes plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification.
  3. Plagiarism refers to the theft of intellectual property (e.g., stealing someone’s idea for an article) or taking credit for another individual’s work.
  4. Duplicate publication also is known as redundant publication and involves publishing the same material in the same format in more than one journal, book, or Web site.
  5. Authorship issues frequently arise when two or more authors are involved in a writing project and can be minimized by clearly delineating authorship roles prior to beginning the project.
  6. Conflict of interest may arise when personal interests are compromised or have the appearance of compromising an author’s ability to objectively perform duties.
  7. High standards and ethical integrity must be maintained when writing for publication

10 Publishing Ethics Tips for Authors

  1. Declare to your chosen journal that your manuscript is not published elsewhere
  2. Declare any conflicts of interest.
  3. Check all co-authors meet criteria for authorship and ensure appropriate acknowledgements made in the manuscript
  4. Include appropriate funding statements in the manuscript
  5. Show informed consent and provide assurances that participants’ rights are protected.
  6. Register clinical trials.
  7. Explain how research using animals is conducted responsibly.
  8. Be alert to bias and follow guidelines for accurate and complete reporting of research.
  9. Inform the journal if you subsequently find errors in your research.
  10. Sign a copyright agreement.
  11. Plagiarism: Similarly index in a paper should be less than 20% and responsibility goes to Authors.

Peer - review policy of PJOLAIT

The editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The editor may be guided by the policies of the journal’s editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision. An editor at any time evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
PJOLAIT is peer reviewed journals. During the process of review our editor first review a paper with online software to know the % of plagiarism then approved manuscript undergo for reviewing with three random subject experts from the list of reviewers. Editor takes his decision after receiving reviewer comment from all three reviewers. The decision is based on the reviewer’s approval and editor’s own evaluation. The complete process runs through online system which is designed to protect confidentiality of author’s work. Editor has complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article, editor also not having conflict of interest with respect to articles he reject/ accept.
Peer Review Policy PJOLAIT is the policy established with the aim to publish and circulate quality research articles from various subjects.
PJOLAIT is a peer-reviewed Bi-Annual Referred Journal of multi Dimensional Research.
Its review policy is solely objective process with vision to publish good scholarly and set proper and high standard practice of research writing. The process involves editorial board and reviewers who are experts from various subjects. The review process begins with the manuscript submission by the author:
Step-1: Initial stage primary evaluation of all manuscripts at the editor’s level to check following:
1.1 Suspicious originality of the subject matter
1.2 Considerable errors as per needs of the subject
1.3 Errors in language in terms of construction, grammar, lack of clarity, etc
1.4 Length of the article, structure and other necessary matters

Step-2:
2.1 The article, if accepted in the stage 1, the same is forwarded to the review.
2.2 PJOLAIT follows three reviewers blind review method for all subjects in anonymous mode.
2.3 The reviews are selected on the basis of their academic expertise and area of interest of their research.
2.4 The review basically focuses on:- Originality of the matter and academic ethics, discourage references without citation to the original author, structure of the article, statistical details and its requirement in the body of the article, presentation of the data, graphical presentation (if any), addition to the body of the knowledge in the subject, clear conclusion, etc.

Step-3: Positive reply and recommendation by the referee would forward the article for further processing.
3.1 In case of suggestions and recommendations, the author is communicated the report and after satisfactory revision it is again forwarded to the reviewer for recommendation.
3.2 However, the editor’s decision is the final decision in terms of publication of the article.
3.3 The reviews are selected on the basis of their academic expertise and area of interest of their research.
3.4 The review process is time bound with clear and earnest aim and objective to publish quality articles for the subjects.
